Austrian F3 driver Lukas Dunner finds his qualifying pace in Barcelona, but lacks race pace. After making a stop in Paul Ricard for his first Euroformula Open race of the season, Dunner will race in Spa Francorchamps in two weeks.

The young Austrian starts into the race weekend on Friday with a solid run in free practice and improves during the qualifying session, where his sector times are on par with those of his teammates Verschoor and Viscaal. Traffic in sector 3 has him lose 0.35sec, putting him on P20 on the starting grid. Friday's learning is therefore that Dunner has the pace, if he manages to deliver earlier in the session and manages to evade traffic.

On Saturday the Austrian struggles to find his pace, though manages to stay out of trouble which in itself marked a welcome change after three weekends where he was taken out of races due to no fault of his own. Two for him uneventful races see him finish in P21 and P22 respectively.

Before he goes to Spa-Francorchamps (Belgium) to race FIA F3 again the weekend after next, he first travels to Paul Ricard (France) to start in his first Euroformula Open race of the season (the second of the race calendar) for the Motopark team. A collective test on Thursday is a good opportunity to familiarize himself with the Dallara 320 car and the Michelin tires. Free practice takes place on Friday with qualifying and the two races following on Saturday and Sunday.

"My qualifying pace was good, the race pace not so much, and there's not that much more to say about this weekend, unfortunately. Now I focus on the things that are going well and I'll be ready to attack next weekend." - Lukas Dunner
